Motivation - The driving factor for your new body!
The lack of motivation for anybody can be a big hindrance on your weight loss journey. There’s no miracle cure to this, only that finding the drive to get up and making it happen will lead to greater success. The harsh truth is that motivation is a real struggle for gym freaks or newbies.
Here’s how I make sure that I’m at the top of my game:
1 - You have to want to do it
Realising why you’re working out will make it easier for you to want to do it. We all want that beach body and we all want the best for ourselves, but we need to invest time and effort in this. Setting up a routine for yourself and sticking to this routine is the best way forward. There’s no miracle, just the desire to wanting to become a healthier and better person. With enough motivation, you WILL succeed.
2 - We all lack motivation sometimes!
Regardless of how much you workout, there are always those days that you would much rather skip your workout and make excuses for yourself. Here’s the harsh reality, if this does happen (and it will sooner or later) just make sure you pick yourself back up again and find that internal desire to want to make the change. Some of my friends fell into this trap and found it hard to get back into it. The best way to make sure you stick to it, is if you have the belief that the workouts you’re doing are contributing to a new you. If they are, you should be seeing gains and that’s a good thing.
3 - Excuses = Waste of time.
You know when that little seed of doubt enters your mind and you immediately feel lethargic. My remedy for that is to make sure that as soon as any doubt or lack of motivation creeps into my mind, I block it out, stick on my gym gear and go for a run. Get yourself away from negative vibes and do what you need to. The satisfaction of having done it when you least wanted to will be rewarding and will make sure you get the best from yourself
4 - Small bursts instead of large lunges!
Rather than working out once every week, or once a month. I found that applying myself on a daily basis and getting the most from myself yielded the most results. So don’t go too hard on your first workout so you don’t workout again. You need to stick to it on a daily basis. So keep up the short bursts on a daily basis and when you feel like you can, you should up the tempo.
